Each season, I reassess what’s in my closet and then decide what I need to replace. However, this summer, the decision was made for me when I noticed that all of my shorts seemed to be simultaneously missing in action (and the ones I did manage to locate needed to be retired ASAP).
To be honest, I’m not much of a shorts wearer (although with the hot and humid days we’ve had so far this summer, I’ve become one). I tend to workout in leggings and wear maxi dresses often when it’s too hot to put together an entire outfit. But after perusing my local Target in search of the perfect pair of shorts, I think I’m a convert now.
I never would have imagined finding the right pair of shorts would be so hard. I mean, they’re shorts after all, and there’s not much to them. However, the hours I spent at Target would prove otherwise. In my search, I came across various types of shorts in all different materials, yet I was hoping for more of an elevated athletic short (if such a thing even exists).
After much searching, I found my way to the back of the store, where I stumbled on the All in Motion Women’s Everyday Soft Ultra High-Rise Bike Shorts, which were exactly what I had in mind. Unfortunately, my local store didn’t have much in the way of colors or sizes, but I did manage to snag an XS in the black and taupe colors. I immediately loved the silky fabric of the shorts, which looked like they had just the right amount of stretch to them, came to a decent length, and would fit true to size. But without trying them on, I was hesitant to go all out and buy them in every color.
When I got home and put them on, it was love at first sight. The shorts fit exactly how I thought they would and were the perfect piece to pair with a tank top or t-shirt. Honestly, they’re so good that I feel like I’ve been living in them these days, and I will be ordering a third pair soon (I have my eye on the violet color).
So, if you’re looking to give your shorts style an upgrade this season, you can’t go wrong with this line from Target. And the best part is that they’re only $20!
