This past weekend was the ultimate in community and wellness, as I hit the road to head out to not one but two back-to-back events in the Hamptons. With the summer season drawing to a close on the east end, each event felt significant, making this weekend an ideal way to bid farewell to the unforgettable summer of 2024. So, let’s delve into it, shall we?
The first event took place at Brisas in East Hampton, an unconventional sports club that encompasses padel, table tennis, and wellness. Stepping into this sanctuary, I was captivated by its expansive ambiance and excited to celebrate Marby’s new collection and join a mat sculpt class led by Shani Rom.
Upon arrival, attendees were each graciously gifted a different workout outfit from Marby. In my bag, I found the “I Like My Shoulder” bra and the “My Basic Legging” in this beautiful Dessert Palm color. I was particularly impressed by the support provided by the one-shoulder bra, and the high-compression fabric delivered exceptional comfort. While I opted for an XS size, I would recommend sizing up for the perfect fit.
After class, we perused the other pieces in Marby’s collection and received goodies from Oceglow, an Indian skincare company. Marby, a budding luxury active clothing brand, has crafted a stunning collection that is just two months old! If you seek a blend of style and functionality for activities like yoga, tennis, or high-intensity sports, this is a brand that deserves a prominent spot on your radar.
The following day, I once again made the two-hour drive out to Montauk, this time for a tennis event organized by Break the Love and Lillet in honor of Women’s Equality Day. In full transparency, I had been looking forward to this event for weeks and was eager to take a tennis lesson and immerse myself in the sport.
In preparation for the day, I headed to Target to buy a tennis dress, the one thing that was not already in my closet. If you’re in the market, Target had a great selection, and I came home with this dress and this one because I couldn’t decide between the two.
The event unfolded on the tennis courts at the Montauk Yacht Club. Before we even picked up our rackets, we were treated to a signature Spritz from Lillet, a French wine-based aperitif, that helped set the tone for the morning.
As I sipped on my Lillet Spritz, I got my hair braided courtesy of Alo and their Glow System Dry Shampoo. It smelt amazing, and I was pleased to find a full-sized bottle of this product in my goodie bag to use at home.
While I may have looked the part of a tennis pro, my experience with the sport had been limited since childhood, so I was glad to have an actual tennis coach on hand. Juan David Hernandez expertly guided us through the fundamentals of how to hit and serve while honing in on proper positioning and technique. Once we all took turns hitting the ball and then serving, it was time to play Queen of the Court, which ignited my competitive spirit. We partnered up, and the first team to get two points against the opposing team made it to the other side of the net to face new players.
The event proved to be the blend of fun and empowerment I needed, with Break the Love fostering an inclusive environment to commemorate Women’s Equality Day. Irrespective of our familiarity with tennis, every participant wholeheartedly supported one another and cheered each other on. Upon concluding my play and bidding farewell to the event, I departed feeling deeply inspired by the camaraderie and collaborative spirit that permeated the occasion.
After a summer filled with countless miles of traversing back and forth between my home and the Hamptons, navigating the notorious summer traffic, I couldn’t have envisioned a more fitting culmination to my #Summer2024 than the enriching and uplifting experiences offered by these two events.
