You know it’s been a busy month when you are first thinking about what’s on your agenda mid-way through. As we transition from beach days to cozy layers, I’ve been getting back into my regular work routine, finishing up my summer reads, and looking forward to some upcoming events. Keep reading to see what’s left on my September agenda.
Do: I spent a good part of my summer around water whether at the beach in Montauk or on a sailboat. And, to me, it’s the best way to spend the summer months. So, I’m excited to have one last hurrah, if you will, and be participating in a regatta where I will get to utilize my newly developed sailing skills this weekend. It’s the perfect way to end the summer and bid farewell to sailing until next year.
Go: My Care Fellowship with Caring Across Generations is still underway, and to say I’ve been eagerly awaiting this month’s session next week would be an understatement. We’ve covered culture change and had discussions around care, but I am looking forward to getting into the policy side of the caregiving crisis, which we are about to dive into. I’m also starting to think about what I would like to propose for my Capstone project, which will be due in early November. And, if you thought the care rally I attended in NYC looked exciting, you, too, can attend the “Care Can’t Wait” National Virtual Rally and support caregivers of all kinds without even leaving your home. It’s taking place next week, and all you need to do is sign up!
Read: I finally finished reading It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover (yes, the book that came with me to Europe at least twice before I actually sat down and read it). After reading and seeing It Ends With Us, I had high hopes for this next book, but I didn’t love it. In fairness, I did read it after seeing the movie, and there was something about putting faces to the characters that made me read the book differently. If this book has been on your reading list, I would still recommend reading it, but I finished it feeling slightly disappointed and done with the whole storyline.
Meet: The last few weeks have been about expanding my network through events, masterclasses, and good old outreach. And, it seems to have paid off, as I am currently at capacity with my client load. That’s right! After lots of discovery calls, I am closing the virtual doors to my business to new clients until after the new year. While my network has been expanding and I’ve been on lots of Zoom calls lately, I have a few in-person meetings with people that I’ve only met virtually happening in the next few weeks, and I’m looking forward to meeting them in real life.
What’s on your agenda this month?
