It’s October…and for anyone who felt like September was a total blur, I’m right there with you. Now that the leaves have started to change colors and the crisp morning air is here, I can no longer deny the arrival of fall. But with the season comes a lot of fun things happening from New York City to all over Long Island and even out to Greenport. Keep reading to check out the events I have rounded up for you this month!
Go: If your hectic schedule has you looking for ways to unwind, look no further than this Sunset Bliss: Movement, Meditation, and Sound event at Nomo Soho with Kristen Smits. Kristen is a dancer, Reiki master, energy practitioner, sound practitioner, future acupuncturist, and Forward_Space instructor. For the next three Saturdays in October, she’s leading attendees on a transformative journey to move energy, meditate, and set intentions. Before the evening concludes, you’ll enjoy a sound bath for the ultimate state of relaxation and healing. Get your ticket to one of these upcoming events on October 5, 19, or 26 at 6 pm, and take in the New York City skyline as you enjoy a restorative evening.
Do: My client, Kerriann Flanagan Brosky, just kicked off her annual Fall Book Tour, which will have her giving her Haunted Long Island Mysteries lecture, as well as her fan-favorite Historic Crimes of Long Island lecture, at local libraries. In addition, she will be hosting a few special events that you won’t want to miss. Check out her website to see where she’ll be lecturing throughout October, and sign up for her newsletter to receive her updates. If Long Island history or the paranormal are your thing, Kerriann is the one to follow!
Attend: I am counting down the days to James Lane Fest, which is taking place October 18-20 at Sound View Greenport. Not only does the event include three days of incredible activities, but I will be moderating the wellness talk on Saturday, October 19 at 10:45 am. If you’re looking for an event that’s the perfect blend of fashion, art, wellness, and dining, get your tickets to attend. Whether you come out to the scenic North Fork for the day or stay for the weekend, there’s something for everyone.
Join: I recently attended a three-day virtual entrepreneurship summit hosted by Lilly Stairs and the Chronic Boss Collective, a membership for businesswomen living with chronic conditions. We covered a lot of ground in our daily sessions and discussed how to start a business, working in the corporate world with a chronic illness, leveling up on LinkedIn, and so much more. But what impressed me was the Chronic Boss Collective itself. I met so many people through the Summit, and it gave me a lot of helpful information and resources when it came to running my business. If you’re an entrepreneur (or have a side hustle that you’d like to develop) who is looking for a robust virtual community, definitely consider becoming a member of the Chronic Boss Collective.
