Last night, the witches of Long Island gathered on Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor for the annual Witches Night Out, sponsored by Lucky to Live Here Realty. Now in its 15th year, the event attracts people of all ages from across the Island for a spooky night filled with shopping, raffles, photos, and fun!
I’ve been attending the event since 2019, and I’ve enjoyed watching it as it gets bigger and better every year. The excitement people have for the event is infectious, and I love seeing all the creative witch outfits while exploring the local shops. Plus, if you have a sweet tooth, there are plenty of treats to satisfy you along the way.
The dress code for the event is simple: wear a witch hat. I like to keep my outfit monochrome and often wear my favorite over-the-knee boots, as they’re comfortable to walk in. And I can’t forget to add my skull earrings and matching scarf for good measure.
This year, I assisted one of my clients who was selling and signing her haunted history books at the event. We arrived early to to avoid traffic in this small town and secure a good parking spot. Before the festivities began, we ate an early dinner at Grasso’s, one of my favorite restaurants. We both ordered the delicious sea scallops, and then it was off to set up our table and books outside of Living, a chic boutique that always has the latest fashion finds. We engaged with many people about Long Island’s haunted past, and I even managed to take a stroll through the local stores participating in the event. I love seeing how festive the town becomes, and it truly brings the spirit of Witches Night alive!
After a few hours with the witches, it was time to pack it all up and fly home. If I wasn’t in the Halloween spirit before, I certainly am after attending Witches Night, which is always the talk of the town.
