When I created my wishlist for the upcoming holiday season, I neglected to add some new riding pieces to get ready for the colder days ahead. Fortunately, Thiandro Equestrian had me covered (literally) and sent me some of their new riding shirts and tights. They arrived the day before I was planning to be at the barn, so naturally, I had to try everything on immediately.
As someone who is all about stylish riding apparel, I’m always on the lookout for new brands and pieces to elevate my look. Thiandro Equestrian was especially appealing to me because their mission is to offer style on a budget, which I appreciate. They are a female-founded small business that has created a range of base layers and riding tights for equestrians of all shapes and sizes, with sizes ranging from extra small to 3XL.

Since I can never have enough base layers, I decided to try two of their premium riding shirts. I went with the Cafe Au Lait Two-Tone Essential Base Layer in a lovely brown and black combination (my two favorite colors right now) and the Azure Rose Garden Essential Base Layer in a beautiful floral print. I typically prefer solid colors, but this blue and green pattern was too nice to pass up. Plus, I’ll need something fun to brighten up the upcoming winter months.

When my package arrived, I couldn’t wait to ride in my new pieces. I got both of the base layers in an extra small, and they fit perfectly. They run true to size but still allow enough room to add a thermal layer underneath for those extra cold riding days (read: they’re not skin-tight). I also love that the material is a medium-weight fabric, making it suitable for all four seasons, and the shirts are made from sustainable, eco-friendly materials. But the best part is that they offer UPF 50+ sun protection. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more mindful of sun safety while riding, so knowing I’m protected is a relief.
Next up, I tried on the Essential Riding Tights in an extra small. Any equestrian will tell you that you can never have enough riding pants, and black is always a solid choice. These riding pants are made from the same material as the shirts, providing a nice thickness and sun protection as well. They feature two zippered pockets that are spacious enough for my phone and a thick waistband that offers extra support. While I’m not used to riding in full-seat breeches, I appreciate that these give some extra grip in the saddle.

Unfortunately for me, the day that I went to the barn turned out to be a washout (even the poor horse wanted no part of my little photo shoot). However, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the riding shirt and tights stayed despite getting soaked in the rain and then covered in shavings after my ride. I swear, the premium moisture-wicking fabric is magical!

I almost forgot to mention that I also received the Hydrated Ride 32 oz Insulated Water Bottle, which is perfect for long days at the barn. I have a reputation for forgetting to bring water, so this was a great addition. The design is sleek and stylish, and the bottle itself is incredibly sturdy, keeping drinks hot or cold for hours.
While the weather might not have cooperated during my barn day, I’m so glad I got to wear my new pieces from Thiandro Equestrian in the ring. And you can, too. They’re offering a tiered discount that runs from Black Friday through Cyber Monday. So, get ready to stock up on stylish new apparel that will keep you looking great all year long!
