Recently, I was scrolling through some of my old photos when something unexpected caught my eye—wrinkles. I’m not sure how I hadn’t noticed them before, but seeing them reflected at me in those images was a shock. Where did they come from? How long had they been there? And, more importantly, what was I going to do about them?
Naturally, I did what any 38-year-old woman would do—I went down the Instagram rabbit hole. After that, I asked friends my age what creams and serums they swear by to maintain their youthful glow. Finally, I combed through countless product reviews, only to find that no two people seemed to agree on the ultimate anti-aging solution. So, I took matters into my own hands and made a trip to Sephora.
There, I met an array of enthusiastic salespeople, each with a strong opinion on which eye cream reigned supreme. After what was probably the longest amount of time I’ve ever spent in Sephora just for research, one product stood out. Sure, the price made me hesitate for a moment, but knowing the brand’s reputation, I decided to go for it. After all, you only live once, and you might as well look your best.
Here’s what my current morning skincare routine looks like and why, if you’re in the market for an eye cream, this one is worth the splurge:
Gua Sha Cryo Sticks from SkinByVee: If you’ve been following me for a while, you know these Gua Sha Cryo Sticks aren’t new in my routine (here’s how I use them). But they’ve earned their spot as a staple. Not only do they reduce puffiness, but they also help with lymphatic drainage and give a nice lifted look in just a few minutes. They’re soothing, effective, and have even helped with my TMJ!
Furtuna Skin Biphase Moisturizing Oil: Since my sensitive skin doesn’t play well with an overload of products, I keep my routine minimal. This oil has the perfect consistency—not too heavy, not too greasy—and works beautifully to help my Gua Sha Cryo Sticks glide over my skin. The ingredients are top-notch, the oil smells lovely, and whether I’m wearing makeup or going au naturale, it gives just the right amount of glow. And judging by my nearly empty bottle, it’s safe to say it’s a favorite.
Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream: And now, the holy grail. This all-in-one eye cream targets fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles. But what really sold me? The cooling metal applicator. I’ve only been using it for a few days, but the difference is already noticeable. The natural pearlizers instantly brighten the under-eye area, while the applicator works wonders on puffiness. For an added bonus, you can store it in the fridge for an even cooler, more refreshing effect. It truly feels like a treat to use, and if these early results are any indication, I can’t wait to see what a month of use will do. Yes, the price tag is steep, but for results like this? Worth every penny.
Aging may be inevitable, but taking care of your skin is something you can control. While I may not have noticed those fine lines creeping in until recently, I’m glad I took the time to invest in products that make me feel my best.
I’d love to hear from you—what are your go-to skincare staples? Drop your favorites in the comments!
