They say you can take the girl out of Rehoboth Beach, but you can’t take her away from the water—and I couldn’t agree more. While my zip code may have changed, my love for being near the water is something that remains deeply ingrained in who I am.
This week kicked off in the best possible way: on a boat. And yes, I was working—because when you’re an entrepreneur, your office can be anywhere you need it to be. Whether it’s a coworking space, a cozy coffee shop, or in this case, the deck of a boat with the ocean as your backdrop, it’s all about creating an environment that inspires you.
There’s something incredibly freeing about being on the water. The gentle sway of the waves, the salty air, and the endless horizon ahead—it gives me clarity, perspective, and a boost of creativity that’s hard to find anywhere else. Even with my laptop open and emails to answer, the setting helped me feel grounded and in flow.
One thing I’ve learned as a business owner is that your workspace doesn’t have to look conventional to be productive. In fact, some of my best ideas have come to me when I’ve stepped away from the desk and leaned into what feels natural. That’s my tip to any fellow entrepreneurs reading this: give yourself permission to work where you feel most alive. Whether it’s on a boat, by the beach, or at the barn—your energy matters more than your surroundings.
When you create a business that reflects your lifestyle and values, work stops feeling like a grind and starts becoming something you look forward to. It’s one of the greatest privileges of entrepreneurship—the ability to design a life you love, while doing meaningful work along the way.
