Did September fly by for anyone else? One blink and—poof—the month was gone. Now here we are in October, and judging by the skeletons, pumpkins, and cobwebs popping up in my neighborhood, spooky season is officially underway.
While most of the events on my calendar this month are for clients (the life of a PR and media entrepreneur!), I still have a few fun things to look forward to—and I can’t wait to share them with you.
Go: After months of behind-the-scenes work, one of my top-secret projects is finally starting to take shape. I can’t spill the details just yet, but it’s been exciting to see everything come together. I’ll have more to share in the months ahead, so stay tuned!
Do: This weekend marks the bittersweet end of sailing season. As part of the crew, I’ll be helping to take the sails down and get the boats ready for winter. Watching them come off always makes me a little sad—it feels like summer slipped away far too quickly. Still, it was a beautiful season on the water, and I’m grateful for every sail.
Try: I’m not quite in full Halloween mode yet, but I’ve loved spotting all the festive decorations during my daily sanity strolls. To ease into the spirit, I signed up for something new: a knitted pumpkin-making class! I’ve always been a fan of real pumpkins for decor, but this time I’ll get to make one that lasts year after year. Bonus—it’s a great excuse to see if I have any knitting skills.
Attend: One of the best fall traditions on Long Island is Witches Night Out in Cold Spring Harbor, hosted by Lucky to Live Here. For one evening, the streets transform into a whimsical Halloween celebration, with plenty of sipping, shopping, and yes—witch hats. My client, author Kerriann Flanagan Brosky, will be signing and selling her books outside Moxologie on Main Street, so if you’re in the area, stop by and say hello!
