As Thanksgiving approaches, I’ve been thinking a lot about community—how it forms, how it supports us, and how it surprises us in the best possible ways. Even though I’m spending this season abroad, the theme of connection has been front and center for me.
A few days ago, I met someone through my business coach, Diana Davis, who happens to live here in Europe. Despite our having never met, she drove an hour and a half just to grab a coffee with me. We sat in a cozy café, sharing stories about entrepreneurship, personal growth, and life transitions. What struck me most wasn’t the distance she traveled but the ease of our conversation and the comfort of meeting someone who just gets it.
Moments like that remind me why I love the work I do. My career has led me to incredible people—clients, collaborators, mentors, fellow creatives, caregivers, and advocates—many of whom I never would have crossed paths with otherwise. Community has been both an anchor and a catalyst, shaping not just my business but the person I’m becoming.

This unexpected coffee date was a beautiful reminder that community isn’t confined by geography. It’s built through shared experiences, authentic conversations, and the willingness to show up for one another whether that means driving across town or across countries.
As we head into Thanksgiving, I’m feeling especially grateful for the people in my life who support me, inspire me, and walk alongside me, both personally and professionally. Even in seasons of change or travel, those connections make the world feel a little smaller and a lot more meaningful.
Wherever this week finds you, I hope you’re feeling held by your own community near or far. And if you’re not, I hope you stumble upon a moment of unexpected connection that reminds you that you’re never as alone as you think.
Wishing you a warm, grounded start to the holiday season.
