If you, like me, took the last two weeks of 2025 practically off and have been moving at a glacial pace as you re-emerge into the world and get back into the swing of things, know you’re not alone.
The good news? While the first week of the new year may have felt like the world’s longest Monday…we made it through.
I’m determined to be gentle with myself this year — and especially in these first few weeks of 2026, which somehow started with my calendar already completely full. So as I ease into the month, here’s what’s on my agenda:
Do: I’ve reserved this month for gentle momentum. For me, that looks like wrapping up a few lingering projects from last year, starting to sketch out what I want 2026 to feel like (not just look like), and creating space for ideas before rushing into action.
Go: January is about returning to my familiar places — the ones that help me feel grounded again after the holidays. That means time at the barn, long beach walks (even when it’s cold), and easing back into my favorite workout classes. Nothing flashy, just rhythms that make me feel like myself again.
Try: Speaking of workouts, I’ve fallen out of my routine over the past few weeks, so this month is also about trying something new. Whether it’s a class I’ve never taken, a fresh spin on my usual routine, or even just showing up and moving in ways that feel fun, it’s time to explore and rediscover what works for me.
Travel: I have a very quick 24-hour trip planned to Pittsburgh next week. It’s one of those in-and-out trips that feels slightly chaotic but also kind of energizing, and serves as a reminder that not all travel has to be big or glamorous to be meaningful.
What’s on your agenda this month?
