For me, April usually marks the official start of my countdown to warmer days. But this year, that countdown started a little earlier, thanks to an exciting trip on the horizon and the chance to explore a new city (for real this time). As much as I’m looking forward to longer, lighter days, this month is less about rushing ahead and more about being present and taking it all in. And honestly, I’m really excited about that shift.
Keep reading to see what’s on my agenda:
Go: I feel like I’ve been talking about my trip to Pittsburgh for a while now, but that’s because I actually have more notice than when I made a quick 24-hour trip last time. This time around, I’m excited to really experience the city—exploring museums, discovering cool spots, and meeting up with people along the way. After doing plenty of research, I was set on staying in the city’s downtown area and even found a historic hotel with an old speakeasy in the basement (and allegedly a few ghosts on the upper floors). But in a last-minute twist, I came across an Airbnb that is quite literally my dream apartment, so I immediately booked it. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes moments from the trip over on Instagram.
Do: By the time I’m back from Pittsburgh, it’ll almost be time for the boat to go back in the water. It feels like we just took her out, and now we’re gearing up for another season already. This year especially, the turnaround feels so much quicker. Still, I’m looking forward to being back out on the water, reuniting with my sailing friends, and settling into those summer evenings that I love so much.
Try: Manucurist recently launched their Playback Collection, featuring ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s-inspired shades for spring and summer…and I’m already obsessed. They sent over three colors for me to try, and I just applied Spicy, a vibrant red with pink undertones that feels very ‘80s in the best way. Next up I’ll test out Tangerine and Nebula. If you’re new to Manucurist, it’s a vegan, plant-based nail polish brand and the only polish I’ve used consistently over the past few years. If you’ve been thinking about making the switch, consider this your sign. Your nails will thank you.
Book: This year has really been about redefining self-care for me. While it may seem like I’ve always prioritized it, I’ve realized there were certain areas I had been neglecting. So when one of my favorite facialists mentioned she’d be in the city for a residency, I didn’t hesitate to book an appointment. I’m pretty particular about who I trust with my skin—and I don’t get facials often—so this feels like a real treat. I’m already looking forward to it at the end of the month and can’t wait to share more afterward.
