October is here, and I am fully embracing pumpkin pandemonium, spooky season, and all the little things that make fall feel like fall. After a whirlwind September, I’m looking forward to a slower-paced October with some much-needed downtime, plenty of cozy moments, and one of my favorite Long Island events of the season.
Go: The only event I’ll be leaving home for this month is Witches Night in Cold Spring Harbor. It’s always one of my favorite fall activities, and I love spending the evening perusing the shops, enjoying a sweet treat, and stopping for a mocktail at Moxologie. It’s such a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit. If you’re planning to attend on Thursday, October 22, let me know. I’d love to say hello!
Do: This month is going to look a little different as I continue to recover from abdominal surgery. I’m giving myself permission to slow down, take it easy, and focus on resting instead of trying to keep up with my usual pace. Honestly, I think October might be the perfect month for it. Cozy clothes, quiet days, and plenty of time at home sound pretty good right now.
Read: I finally have the time to get some reading in! I picked up a copy of The Midnight Train by Matt Haig a while back but never got around to actually reading it. I loved his other book, The Midnight Library, so I’ve been looking forward to diving into this one. There’s something especially nice about having a good book waiting for you when you know you’ll have some extra downtime.
Watch: I’m not a big binge-watcher, but Slow Horses on Apple TV is one show I simply can’t get enough of. If you’re into witty writing and British spy dramas, this is the one to watch. The new season is already out, so you know where I’ll be spending some of my downtime this month.
What’s on your agenda this month?
