April Buys

April Buys

After a beautiful Sunday that hit nearly 60 degrees, my spring game is feeling strong. I’m sure we will have a few more cold spells this month that will delay my off-the-shoulder dreams (I’m ready to scoop up that blue striped Mossimo number any day now), so in the meantime I’ve rounded up a few other pieces that will work for the unsteady April days ahead.

Over the weekend, I scored the floral workout leggings (seen above) from Old Navy after seeing a girl in my kickboxing class wearing them. I loved the print, and when she said that they were only $16, I knew where my next stop later that day would be. While at Old Navy, I spotted the field jacket (also seen above) and will definitely be returning for that piece. It will be ideal for the chilly mornings—or impending rain this week.

What is on your must-have list this month?

The (Seriously) Last-Minute Gift Guide

The (Seriously) Last-Minute Gift Guide

So here we are…down to the wire. In T-minus four days it will be Christmas and you haven’t even started shopping. Don’t despair (I say this as a reminder to myself as well). We are getting dangerously close to the point of no return when it comes to online shopping and having your presents wrapped and under the tree in time. With that said, plenty of retailers make shopping in-store a breeze. If you have a long list, I would suggest hitting up Target, Ulta, Sephora, Banana Republic, Anthropologie, and Gap for all of your gifting needs. I was at Gap over the weekend, and their inventory (combined with the sales!) made for easy shopping. The plaid shirt above was a recent purchase of mine, and given how soft the fabric is and how affordable the price was, this gift is a no-brainer. Of course, the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick set (bonus points: it includes the glitterazzi top coat) is a gift that is hard to beat.

Regardless of what you decide to purchase for your loved ones, it is crunch time. I hope this last-minute gift guide (along with this one and this one) have helped you out this holiday season.

Stay sane and happy shopping!

The Under $20 Gift Guide

Struggling to find that perfect gift for a co-worker, teacher, or as a stocking stuffer, without breaking the bank? Well, look no further. I’ve rounded up great gifts that are all under $20 — and bonus points — they are things people will actually want and enjoy using. Gift giving doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, so here are a few items that make perfect presents (and can also be picked up in a pinch — like when you suddenly find out that your office has a holiday party tomorrow afternoon and you need to bring something).

The Gift Guide for Everyone on Your List

Now that it is officially December, the time has come to start presenting you with all of those fun gift guides. Since I have yet to do any holiday shopping (well, I did gift myself a few new things from Target yesterday — including the buffalo plaid pajama set seen below), I thought I would round up some items that will be gifted (hopefully to others!) this season. Whether you are searching for that special something for the fashionista, techie, or hard-to-please coffee drinker in your life, here are some presents that will be well received.

Birthday Buys

Birthday Buys

As my birthday month concludes, nothing makes me happier than opening the last of my presents (even if I did gift them to myself). If you follow me on Snapchat and Instagram, you may have watched as I opened my Black Friday/Cyber Monday purchase from Anthropologie — the Letters in Lights earrings set. Yes, I have been on quite the earring kick lately!

But that wasn’t the only thing I bought myself this month. On a recent lunchtime visit to Target, I stocked up on lots of sweaters. If you haven’t been there in a while, I highly suggest you go. I purchased a cream cowl neck Mossimo sweater that I will be buying in however many other colors it comes in. It’s that cozy – trust me! And since Mossimo can do no wrong, there may have been a cardigan…a burgundy long-sleeve shirt, and another oversized sweater that also found their way into my winter collection.

On the beauty front, what would a month (or a week be!) without a stop at Ulta? Naturally, I ran out of my beloved Stila Smudge Stick in Lionfish (still using that one and still love it) and with the holidays coming, I was in desperate need of a new nail polish. Insert Chick Flick Cherry from OPI — the perfect shade for the winter months (and a nice alternative to red).

Thank you for indulging me as I celebrated my birthday month!

Ready to Shop? Cyber Monday Deals You Don’t Want to Miss!

Anthropologie Initial Earrings

If you made the decision to curl up on your couch, stay in your pajamas all day, and binge-watch Gilmore Girls this past weekend instead of braving the crowds at the mall, today is the day you have been waiting for. Yes, it’s Cyber Monday — the day when you can get great deals on your holiday wish list items from the comfort and convenience of your very own home.

As tempting as it was to stay in and wait for Cyber Monday, on Saturday I ventured out to my nearest Anthropologie. The 30% off sale they had this weekend was just too good to pass up. And the earrings pictured above? Well, I got them for $7.56 – a way better price than their original $32 tag!

But if you held out, here are some sales that were worth the wait:

Sweets, Shopping, and Snoozing

I’m still in a food coma as I sit down to write this post, but I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Yesterday left me feeling incredibly thankful and grateful. I’m so honored to have this space on the Internet that you all come to and read what I have to say. I’ve shared a lot about my struggles on this site, and while they have been challenging, I am grateful for them because they have shown me a strength that I never knew I had. So, thanks to all of you for your continued support over the years. Your sweet comments make blogging a truly rewarding experience.

I’m looking forward to sleeping in (which I rarely get to do these days) on this long weekend and getting back to my weekly kickboxing routine. Something about indulging in a seven-layer cake on Thanksgiving (combined with all of the birthday sweets this month), makes working out seem like a good idea.

Of course, don’t forget to hit up your favorite retailers today for some steals and deals. But I have a feeling I didn’t need to remind you about that. Happy shopping!

Fall Finds: Anthropologie Accessories

If you are a regular reader of this site, you probably know two things right off the bat: I love Anthropologie and I love anything that has a monogram on it. So it should come as no surprise that on my most recent stroll through my local Anthropologie I was swooning over their latest fall accessories.

I must express some disappointment that they fail to carry any “V” initials, either in the earrings or the necklace, but I digress. Other than that minor glitch, Anthropologie offers lots of beautiful statement pieces — at reasonable prices. I purchased a ring from them last year and it looks way more expensive than it actually was.

With a new season comes a few new purchases. And I certainly have my eye on the pieces above.

Which piece is your favorite?

Fall Friday

Throughout much of the Northeast, the weather has remained warm. Yet this week was a little sad, as another equinox arrived and we said farewell to summer. As we welcome the official start of fall, I’ll need a few weeks before I am ready to rock the long sweaters, throw on a pair of riding boots, and take a swig of a Pumpkin Spice Latte — but those days are coming.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Fitness Fashion: Anthropologie

Anthropologie Laser-Cut Leggings

I swear my workouts are better when cute clothing is involved. In a post earlier this week, I mentioned that I purchased a new pair of Anthropologie leggings. I had been eyeing the laser-cut beauties (similar here) for quite some time, but couldn’t justify splurging on more workout attire.

Over the Fourth of July weekend that changed. I stopped at the mall to run a few errands and, against my better judgment, I dropped in at Anthropologie (which, if nothing else, gives me great decor ideas!). I have to admit, I dread browsing the sale racks — they’re in the back of the store and the room is usually packed with people grabbing at discounted pieces before your eyes can even comprehend what you’re looking at. But on this trip, I was in no particular hurry. My eyes immediately spotted the grey and coral laser-cut pants, and to my delight, there were two pairs — an x-small and a small. I tried on the x-small and they fit perfectly.

Anthropologie Laser-Cut Leggings

This purchase was one of the highlights of my Fourth of July weekend. I ended up scoring the leggings on sale for under $15. Just this week, I wore them to my kickboxing class and not only did they perform well, but I received tons of compliments.

This just goes to show that patience is a virtue…and it pays off when shopping!
