My Favorite Bags for Spring

My Favorite Bags for Spring

Ah, spring!

While the weather may not be quite there yet, I am counting down the days until the season of extra light and warmer weather arrives. So in honor of spring, I’m hooking you up with some of my favorite handbag styles in very spring-like shades.

What are some of your favorite styles for spring?

Going for Gold

Going for Gold

I’ve long loved the Olympic Games. As a child, I wanted to be an Olympic figure skater. Then as a teen, the dream was to become an Olympic equestrian. Since neither of those dreams came true (although I was both a figure skater and an equestrian), I now live vicariously through the athletes in my two favorite sports.

Now that the Rio games are upon us, my brain is focusing on all things Olympics — from what the athletes will be wearing at the Opening Ceremony (which is tonight!) to which sports I’ll be watching. If you’re so inclined to have an Olympics-inspired viewing party, Emily at Cupcakes and Cashmere hosted one that will be hard to beat.

But if your celebratory style is more low-key or if you want to dress the part of an Olympic athlete, I’ve rounded up a few pieces above that will surely have you going for the gold.

Go Team USA! Is anyone else as excited about the Summer Games as I am?

Fringe Finds

Fringe Finds

In case you missed the memo and thought the 1970’s were gone for good, I’m here to tell you…they’re back! Prepare yourself for the return of flared jeans, suede pants, and oh yes, fringe.

I’ve been seeing tons of fringe lately on everything from boots to bags, and honestly, I wasn’t sure I was a fan of the trend. But it’s growing on me. Since I never experienced the fashion of the 70’s firsthand, I feel like now is the time where I can put my own spin on the looks from that decade.

I’m starting with boots. We all know that booties are a classic fall staple — pair them with a shirt dress, skinny jeans, or your favorite skirt and you are good to go. But add some fringe to them and you’ve just created a funky outfit that’s completely in style this season.

If you aren’t ready to embrace the trend wholeheartedly, fringe booties are a great option. Even a simple suede bootie can help you transition into a fringe fiend. So grab those boots, have fun with some fringe, and get groovy like it’s the 70’s all over again!

What are your thoughts on fringe? Can you dig it?
