Happy first day of spring! If you’re like me, this day couldn’t come soon enough. I love that it’s staying lighter longer, and I can’t wait to restart my evening beach sanity strolls soon. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy watching the new blooms sprout up along my regular neighborhood walk.
If it seems like I haven’t shared an agenda post in a while, you’d be right. For the last couple of months, I’ve been hard at work (in hibernation mode) to grow my business. Aside from typical work stuff, caregiving, and barn days, I haven’t had a whole lot else on my agenda. But with the nice weather comes more opportunities to get outside, so I thought I would round up a few things I’m looking forward to this month and some updates (even though we are more than halfway through March):
Go: If you’re looking for something fun to do on the east end of Long Island, my client Kerriann Flanagan Brosky is hosting a Dinner with the Author event on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30 pm at Farm Country Kitchen in Riverhead. Kerriann is an award-winning author and historian (and the author of my favorite book, Historic Crimes of Long Island). You may recall that I attended one of her local library lectures and enjoyed hearing Kerriann speak about various haunted Long Island establishments, some of which I had visited over the years, but never knew of their storied pasts. Visit her website for more details and to RSVP for the Dinner with the Author event happening this week!
Visit: This place has been on my itinerary for a while, but so far, my schedule hasn’t allowed for a trip out to the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF). For the serious music lover or concert-goer, this place is a must. Located out in Stony Brook, this 8,800 square foot space features an exhibition area, theater, performance area, and an official “Hall of Fame Museum” that has inducted more than 120 musicians and industry professionals. Check out their calendar for some upcoming acts and to plan your visit.
Do: I recently launched a monthly LinkedIn newsletter called Notes from Ness, where I discuss a topic in the entrepreneur, equestrian, or caregiving space. The inaugural one was on the role of women in the current caregiving crisis. Head over to my LinkedIn page to subscribe and catch the next one that will come out in April.
Read: Have you been wondering if now is the right time to make a career switch? I was recently quoted in an article in The Balance where I shared my thoughts on this very topic. It’s a topic that I get asked about frequently now as someone who left a full-time job to go out on my own and start a company. So, if you’ve been wondering if the time is right for you to take a leap and make a career change, head over and read the piece.
What’s on your agenda this month?
